With start of mercury shooting up in Gujarat alone 19,000 cases of heat wave, sun stroke emergency were recorded from March 20 to April 10. It is predicted that effect of heat wave can further increase during the month of May. Heat wave leads to many health problems including blood pressure, vomiting, diarrhea and giddiness. Doctors advise not to move out in hot sun and drink more water. 108 Ambulance has been converted into Pre Hospital Van and equipped with medicine and allied facilities, as per sources.
