Today AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation collected sample of various bread for laboratory testing in Public Health Laboratory. Recent studies by CSE Centre for Science and Environment have revealed that 84 percent samples positive with Potassium Bromate or Iodate.

Excess use of Potassium Bromate in making of bread leads to cancer. Potassium Bromate is used for softening, whitening of bread. Also, to preserve bread it is used.

Health department of AMC team in 2 spells collected 8 bread samples yesterday and 10 bread samples today.
