Today in Ahmedabad, Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani has announced a program to gherao AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation tomorrow on 26 September Monday at 3:00 pm.
Mevani has appealed Dalits to attend the program of AMC gherao. He added that in “Lakhudi Scheme”, 148 houses were allotted out of 568 using draw system, all others were directly allotted giving indications of corruption in house allotment. In other housing schemes also gimmick like Lakhudi Scheme is being done by AMC authorities blamed Mevani. For housing projects on Aud Na Tekra by Siddhi Developers and MTH (Aawaas Seva Private Limited) same sort of manipulations are done says Mevani.
Ramapir Na Tekra, Chandrabhaga No Khado, PurPiditnagar, Aud Na Teka, RamRahimnagar, Ambedkarnagar, Rohidasnagar, Metro project affected people are not considered for rehabilitation by AMC lawfully. Poor affected people are neither given proper information nor taken into confidence. There is involvement of anti-socials who are showing muscle power and efforts are made to do away with poor affected people.
Mevani appeals all poor and affected people to come for gherao program and fight for their own house, as per sources.
