Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Thara informs on Free Education to BPL families in Ahmedabad

On Saturday,  Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation announced Educational benefits under RTE Act to children of BPL families in Ahmedabad.

Municipal commissioner MS D Thara informed that forms for Free Education to children of BPL families under RTE (Right To Education) Act in Ahmedabad will be available from February 9.  Closing Date for RTE form is February 25, 2015. This forms will be available at 43  places in Ahmedabad between 12 to 4 pm. List of 43 distribution centers is provided along with form. RTE Program is aimed to give benefit to 3000 children. For this purpose, 200 IIM students will help and coordinate with areawise Aanganwadis.

As far as Eligibility is concerned, child should have completed 5 years as on June 1, 2015. This Educational Program will cover 381 schools of Ahmedabad benefiting 3000 students from 2000 Aanganwadis.  381 Schools of Ahmedabad covers 224 Gujarati, 20 Hindi/Urdu/Sindhi and 137 English medium schools for benefit of RTE program.

On Annual Income, for Ahmedabad Rural Income limit is Rs 47,000, for Ahmedabad Urban limit is Rs 68,000, for OBC Rs 1 lakh and for SC/ST it is Rs 2 lakhs to get benefit under RTE Eductional Program.
