Ahmedabad: over JNU row, 25 ABVP workers arrested at Income Tax Circle

Today as a part of a nationwide protest to raise awareness on the Jawaharlal Nehru University row, state BJP workers organised protest rallies in eight cities.

In Ahmedabad at Income-Tax Circle, during protest by ABVP 25 ABVP workers arrested by the police. These workers were shouting slogans at Income Tax Circle. An official press release by the party stated that Congress, as well as the communist party, are supporting the people who raised anti-nation slogans at JNU.

Also, there is a rally scheduled by BJP Gujarat at 4 pm at Income Tax Circle on JNU row.
With protest rallies by BJP, it aims at spreading awareness on the issue of antinational sentiments expressed by pro-Afzal Guru protestors in JNU. As per the release a few anti-national people at JNU had tried to mislead the people of India by raising the slogans for a free- Kashmir and in the process shown support for terrorism. A meeting to plan the agitations was organized at Kamalam on Wednesday and at the BJP state office in Gandhinagar. BJP leaders Bhiku Dalsaniaya, KC Patel, and others were present at the planning meeting.BJP spokesperson said that at a time when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Digvijay Singh are misguiding the people on the ‘anti-national issue’ raised at JNU, it is the responsibility of the ruling party to counter it by spreading the truth. Jadeja said that agitation programmes will be held in eight cities on Thursday and in 20 other districts on Saturday. He said that the party leaders and workers at the district headquarters have been told to organize the agitation programmes successfully in their areas.BJP spokesman said that the agitation is mainly against the attempts of Congress and the left parties to misguide people of this country by supporting the people who are responsible for anti-national slogans. State General Secretary of BJP said that special slogans have been coined for the protest rally. “We want the people to know the truth and we have planned the protest rally accordingly,” he said.
