In Ahmedabad, residents of Shiromani Residency Society of Nikol area had gone to Nareshwar pilgrimage . Some 33 people of 11 families went to Nareshwar in a mini bus. While taking bath at Nareashwar one 12 year old girl had started drowning, to save her one by one 7 other people were also were drowned in the river and atmosphere became dreadful with screanming of people around. All villagers present, residents of Shromani Residency Society and pilgrims present at the site were morning the shocking incident. Death toll has reached 8. Till now 5 dead bodies have been found.
Pilgrims had gone to Nareshwar to take bath in holy river due to Adhikmaas as per Hindu calender. This month is considered to be very pious by Hindus.
Dead bodies of Rushi Narola, Vipul Narola and Kunal Jagani were found. Other people who were drowned were Kaushik Jagabhai Lakkad (age 29), Alpesh Batukbhai Bavaniya, Praful Vallabhbhai Bavaniya, Jainsi Parvinbhai Narola (age 12), Kaushikbhai Prajapati, Manishbhai Pethani , Vipulbhai alias Lalo.
