With increase in road accidents, Gujarat government has formed a policy on road safety now granted permission to police for acquiring air ambulance. In case of serious road accidents air ambulance will be very useful in proving immediate treatment to seriously injured patient and could be saved them with timely treatment to them. As per policy of Road Transport department facility for air ambulance will be made at 4 places in Gujarat in 4 different zones. Four big hospitals will be able to provide treatment to seriously injured and critical patient of accident. The patients will be to rushed to big hospital in 10 minutes. Transport minister Vijay Rupani has granted permission for air ambulance. Helicopters will be used as air ambulance.
Presently, two hospitals namely Ahmedabad Civil hospital and Surat Municipal Corporation Hospital are being prepared with facility of helipad. With air ambulance critical patients can be air flown to hospitals in no time and could be saved.
