Dedicated sports injury prevention and rehabilitation centre, Arthro One Specialty Clinic, inaugurated in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, December 4, 2019: Taking orthopaedic arthroscopy a leg up in the state, Gujarat’s first dedicated sports injury prevention and rehabilitation centre – Arthro One Specialty Clinic – was recently launched in Ahmedabad. The hi-tech centre, which is the state’s first dedicated facility for effective management of injuries which sportsmen and athletes commonly suffer, was inaugurated by Honourable Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, Nitin Patel recently. The launch announcement for the specialty clinic was made on Wednesday in Ahmedabad.
Founded by Dr Nilesh Shah, MS Orthopedic and Master in Sports Medicine from New York University, USA, the centre has ultra-modern equipment and all-inclusive facilities to enable comprehensive management of different types of sports and athlete-injuries, with minimal invasion.
“Sports Medicine is a preventive science, which deploys minimally invasive therapy to prevent and manage sports-related injuries. In most cases, injuries are managed non-surgically, and surgery is preferred only as a tertiary management. At Arthro One, we have a
dedicated team of doctors who have specialized in arthroscopy and sports medicine. They come with an extensive experience in management of joint injury, preservation and reconstruction of knee, shoulder, elbow, hip and ankle joints; and sports rehabilitation,” said Dr Shah, who is also a consultant to the Gujarat Cricket Association, Asian and Swimming Federation of India and a committee member at International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS).
The state as well as central government is encouraging the youth to undertake sports and is also bullish towards creation of sports infrastructure across the country. Despite the growing number of sportsmen and athletes in India, sports and fitness medicine continues to be at a nascent stage in our country.
“With increasing number of opportunities getting created for the youth to pursue sports and athletics, there is a need for dedicated centre for sports injury prevention, management and rehabilitation.

Through targeted therapeutic interventions, the centre can help people maintain their health, improve fitness, reduce pain, recover from injury and even prevent it, using exercise, physiotherapy and movement.
The team of experts at Arthro One specializes in advanced methods such as orthobiologics, stem cells and growth factors in sports injury management and prevention, that may be deployed based on requirement.
