Today in Gujarat, 27 municipalities will undergo Polling for these local bodies during 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. Counting will take place on 23 February.
40 % voting at Maliya Nagar Palika in Morbi district 43 % voting in Vadodar a district for Savli Nagar Palika , 46.37 % voting in Bareja, 45 % voting in Vadali, 59.17 % voting in Kathlal and 27.70 % voting in Thasra till noon. Average voting remain at 48.40 % till noon.
There are 1641 candidates in the race. Polling will be conducted in 165 wards.
27 municipalities that witness polling are Bareja, Damnagar Sojitra, Bhabhar, Amod, Valbhipur, Pethapur, Raval, Kanajari, Gandevi, Shahera, Vadali, mandvi, Patdi, Savli, Sutrapaada, Maliya Miyana, Bayad, Barwala, Sikka and Umargam.
Bypolls for vacant seats in municipalities will be held today. While Gariyadhar has 11 seats vacant, Talaja, Visavdar, Manavadar, Bhanvad, Dhandhuka, Bavla and Vijapur have 1 seat each vacant this in total 18 seats.
Till now polling is reported to be peaceful.
