Today Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel while observing Women Empowerment Fortnight till Aug 15, distributed loan cheques of Rs 8.00 crores to 1594 underprivileged women of scheduled caste under various governmental schemes from Gujarat Scheduled Caste Upliftment Corporation. The assistance provided will open self-employment opportunities for these women beneficiaries, thus making them financially self-reliant. Committed towards welfare of women, nearly 35 lakh women across Gujarat have been trained and empowered financially through Self-help groups.
