Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel’s literal message for the occasion of Gujarat Gaurav Divas (1st May) is as below:

Our Gujarat, glorious Gujarat is entering in the fifty five year. Our heartily wishes to all Gujaratis, who live in Gujarat, outside Gujarat and settled in overseas, on the occasion of Gujarat Gaurav Divas from me and my Cabinet members.

Gujarat has completed the journey of 54 years as an independent state, but the journey of the culture and dignity of Gujarat is eternal.

We began a journey to build a fortune of Gujarat on May 1, 1960. We have completed our 5.5 decades long developmental journey with the guidance and consistent efforts of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Shyamji Krishna Verma, Ravishankar Maharaj, Induchacha, blessings of intellectual personalities and various stalwarts from the field of literature. Today is the occasion to recall, acknowledge and congratulate all of them.

People of Gujarat have showed their strength in shaping developed Gujarat during time of challenges. Our efforts have never declined and that’s why Gujarat has been witnessing vibrant progress. As to me the 6.5 crore Gujaratis are the heart of Gujarat, who know that changes in society is universal and progressive.

There is no slogan of 6.5 crore Gujaratis, but it is the mantra of people’s strength. It is the mantra of development. Gujarat has selected the path to earn global progress with this mantra. Gujarat has engraved the path of ‘collective efforts collective development’.

Gujarat has earned the prosperity of all-round development at the initial years of twenty first century. Gujarat get recognition not only in India, but in developed nations also. Its credit goes to the ability of the people, not to any Government or to any Chief Minister. You, people of Gujarat – all brothers and sisters of Gujarat are the true soldier of the consistent journey of development.

The Governments are the trustees of funds of the state. Hon’ble Bapu gave us a spirit of trusteeship. Maturity of the democracy is in obeying this spirit.

Gujarat has accepted the fact that at last the people-citizens are at the centre of the development. That has been enlightened through providing strength in the development.

Today the flags of Gujarat’s development are waving all over the world. Our success of the developmental decade through the political stability – political willpower and strength of the people in the first decade of 21st century. Gujarat has motivated disappointed citizens of the country in the second decade of the 21st century. Today, citizens of the country experiencing new encouraging environment under the leadership of the son of Gujarat and our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

New hopes emerged among the citizens. The prestige of India which was getting lower in the world is now establishing. We also have engraved the path of the journey of the unstoppable progress with the strength in that direction in Gujarat. Brothers and sisters, several ups and downs happened in the longest consistent journey of 5.5 decades of the progress of Gujarat. We accomplishes it with the efforts of people and with the determination to incarnate the golden morning, today we succeeded in the standards of the global development. All Gujaratis can proud of it. Gujarat has continued its unstoppable journey of progress by following the inspirational paths of Mahatma Gandhiji and Sardar Patel.

The progress of 5.5 decades witnesses the same. This is not the occasion to summarize to who have done what and how for Gujarat. Gujarat Gaurav Divas is only an occasion to respect the new milestones of the successes of Gujarat. I got an opportunity to perform my duties as a first woman Chief Minister of the State with the blessing-wishes of all the citizens.

Today, on the occasion of the Gujarat Formation Day I would like to speak humbly. You all have entrusted me and as per my opinion it is the respect to the women. Coincidently, exactly after 21 days of the Gujarat Gaurav Divas I will complete one year of taking over as a Chief Minister. While we celebrate the Gujarat Formation Day, it is natural that each person could expect the direction of progress and the position from the Government as well. Brothers and sisters, I would like to say respectfully that the strength of development becomes more acute. Clear policies, good governance and vegourness become the equivalent word to the development – public welfare of Gujarat. We continue the plan of all-round development which started under the leadership of the then Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

Today Gujarat became the guide for all states as an all-round development model state with the vision of the progress of remotest areas of Gujarat.
