Kutch visit further curtailed of PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will be on one-day tour of Kutch tomorrow. Earlier PM was scheduled to make two-days trip but the program has changed at the last minute. Now PM Modi will visit Kutch for only five hours. He will proceed from Delhi at 11:30 hours and arrive at 1:30 pm on Bhuj Airport in Kutch.

PM will perform ground breaking ceremony for Seawater Desalination plant in Kutch and return to Delhi in the evening.

In February this year, Government of Gujarat signed MOUs Memorandum Of Understanding for establishing desalination plants at 4 villages in Devbhumi Dwarka, Bhavnagar, Kutch and Gir Somnath districts. The plants will be set up in 2 years span post approval. The plants will have capacity to convert daily 27 crore liter sea water into drinking water.

On behalf of State government, GWIL Gujarat Water Infrastructure Ltd signed MoU with SPV Special Purpose Vehicle of Mumbai based Shaporji Palonji & Company and Aquatic System Asia Pvt Ltd Joint Venture.

Four plants are planned at Gandhvi village in Devbhumi Dwarka district for daily capacity of 7 crore liter Ghogha in Bhavnagar district for daily capacity of 7 crore liter, Gundiyali in Mandvi taluka of Kutch district for daily 10 crore liter and Vadodara Zala village of Sutrapada taluka of Gir Somnath district for daily 3 crore liter capacity.
