Last Date to fix HSRP extended for a month by Gujarat government
Subsequent to Supreme Court’s order to fix HSRP (High Security Registration Plates) number plates in vehicles, transport department of Gujarat has clarified that all vehicles should have HSRP fitted before 15 January, 2018 else department will impose a fine of Rs. 500 on the vehicle owners who fail to comply with norms set by RTO on HSRP.
As per reports, it is learnt that last of fixing HSRP has been further extended for a month beyond 31 March 2018.
Statistically, 8 lakh out 11 lakh vehicles are not fitted with HSRP and it is not possible to meet deadline of 31 March. Hence, extension of a month has been granted by Gujarat government.
