Northern states Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Bihar remains flood hit

Due to heavy rains landslides and floods took place in many parts of Northern India regions including Uttarakahand, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar being worst affected.

In Uttarakhand alone 50 people reported to have been killed. Situation remains critical for past two days.

All big rivers Ganga, Nandakini and Pindar were flolwing above the danger mark. Pilgrimage, Char Dham Yatra is worst affected with highways leading to the major shrines of Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri are blocked at a number of places.

Twenty eight people have been killed and nearly 1500 villages in Uttar Pradesh have inundated due to heavy rains.Thousands of villages across nine districts of Uttar Pradesh were trapped in floods.  Release of water from overflowing dams in neighbouring Nepal has added to the impact of the downpours
