Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), leaders protesting for reservation in Gujarat, has threatened to launch an indefinite hunger strike if its leaders including Hardik Patel are not released from jail, after December 21. PAAS leaders from across Gujarat has given common memorandums on Tuesday, to district collectors and other government officials at taluka level. PAAS said its members will take alternative of indefinite fast across the state if its demands are not met by December 21.The Patel leaders asked the government to discharge their leaders who are in prison, arrested by police while campaigning demanding reservation for community members in government jobs and education institutes. Ahmedabad PAAS convener said “Our members today gave such memorandum to collectors and mamlatdars in various parts of state. Our leaders and other Patel youths are ljailed on false charges. We will not give up till they are released,”The organisation also asked government to take out sedition charges slapped against Hardik Patel, Nilesh Arvadia, Dinesh Bambhaniya, Chirag Patel and Ketan Patel.There were two sedition complaints filed against Hardik Patel previouly, the first one in Surat and another in Ahmedabad. His bail pleas were turned down by the courts in Surat.and Ahmedabad.

Jammu and Kashmir, 24% voting till Noon; Srinagar voting for eight constituencies
Today, in Srinagar polling is going for eight constituencies, large number of voters turned up at the polling booths of Srinagar. Over turnout was 24% till noon, was recorded in the state. Elections are also being held for 15 seats in Jharkhand where 30% polling was recorded till 11 am.
