Seven new Coronavirus positive cases in Ahmedabad; 10 patients discharged

Coronavirus positive cases in Gujarat tally has gone to 95 said Dr Jayanti Ravi, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare at a morning press conference in Gandhinagar today.

Seven new positive cases registered in Ahmedabad including 6 local transmissions from Kalupur Area with 4 cases including a 7 years old Girl, family came in contact with a traveler from Delhi.  Two cases registered from Bapunagar area.

Ten patients were discharged, 75 patients stable and 2 are on ventilator. Death toll has reached 8. Gujarat government has placed order for more ventilators, in case of situation worsens like other countries said Dr Ravi. Blood related arrangements have been done for 117 Thelassemmia patients through support of Red Cross society and government hospitals. Our helpline numbers 124 and 1100 are available for Isolation related help added Dr Ravi. She informed about social media contact points and importance of some kitchen remedies, golden milk with turmeric powder were prescribed.

42 ventilators were obtained from AIIMS Rajkot. We are in second phase and clustering containment strategy is done. In absence of face mask, cotton cloth also could be used. Active surveillance is also going on. More testing will be done at hotspots to check on spread of Covid-19 virus.

Total number of COVID19 positive cases rises to 2183 in India as per ICMR Indian Council of Medical Research.
