Tamil Nadu chief minister,Jayalalithaa, forms SIT in Chennai building collapse

In a recent 11-storeyed building collapse in Moulivakkam near Porur, on the outskirts of Chennai, Jayalalithaa,Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has formed SIT. It is also learnt that Special Investigation Team,SIT will have experts from IIT-Madras and Anna University, in addition of PWD officials. Experts will provide technical guidance and will report to Chennai Police Commissioner.

61 people lost their life in the building collapse, which took place on June 28. Twenty seven persons were rescued and admitted to hospitals.  A case had been booked under several provisions of the Indian Penal Code at the Mangadu police station and senior executives of the firm that had taken up the construction of the building were among those arrested, the statement added.
