Vijay Rupani’s decision on opening Gujarat government offices

Today Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani held a meeting with state administration and AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner using video conference in Gandhinagar. Rupani assessed the situation by discussing with state administration and AMC Commissioner on Lockdown and feasibility to partially open offices and business setups. He took a major decision on opening government offices from 20th April after holding the meeting.

After outbreak of Covid-19 virus in India, a Nationwide 21 days long lockdown was imposed on 24th March by PM Narendra Modi and it was further reviewed on 14th April by PM in consultation with state governments.

Gujarat CM is under home quarantine after coming in contact with Gujarat Congress MLA Imran Khedawala.

State Government Offices including Collector Office, Panchayat Office, Corporation/ Municipal Corporation , Essential services including Police, Gas, Electricity and associated offices in Hotspot and Containment Zone will not be opened. Officers and staff residing in such areas will not be permitted to attend office.

The offices will be fully equipped for health facilities of staff and follow norms of social distancing.

Every staff will compulsorily wear a face mask.

Class 1 and 2 staff will attend the office as per need and on instruction from his seniors.

33 % of Class 3 and below to attend the office.
