Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Chapter of the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) organised Pharma Connect 3.0, bringing together pharmaceutical and HVAC&R professionals to discuss emerging technologies, energy efficiency and operational challenges in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
Prof. R. Saravanan, President of ISHRAE, was the Guest of Honour at the event.
The key sessions focused on energy optimisation in pharma utilities, management perspectives on HVAC for pharmaceutical formulation facilities, and next-generation pharma cooling, including the integration of chillers, heat recovery systems and smart controls.
Speakers at the event included Sunil Motiramani, Cluster Head (EHS), Superform Chemistries; Ketan Naik, Pharma Technocrat; and Mrugesh Gowda, General Manager (West), Climaveneta Climate Technologies. A panel discussion featured Mita Patel, Director, Medijens Solutions, and R. Senthilkumar, General Manager (Engineering), The Madras Pharmaceuticals.
Amit Sanghvi, President of the ISHRAE Ahmedabad Chapter, said the forum would provide practical insights from technical, design and management perspectives, helping professionals identify opportunities to improve facility performance, energy efficiency and HVAC&R systems.
Jignesh Parikh of the ISHRAE Ahmedabad Chapter said representatives from around 15 to 20 pharmaceutical and healthcare companies participated in the programme. He added that many of these companies have operations and facilities across India.
Amit Sanghvi further said that Pharma Connect 3.0 is focused on next-generation technologies and solutions capable of bringing significant changes to the industry, and that the event had received an encouraging response. Representatives from major pharmaceutical companies, including Zydus, Torrent Pharma and Sun Pharma, had registered for the programme.
He said key areas of discussion included energy conservation in pharmaceutical companies, reducing utility consumption, improving cooling efficiency, and integrating new technologies including AI-driven solutions into cooling systems.
