Today Dr. Hiren Banker, Spokesperson, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee said BJP’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” slogan has remained only on paper.

In reality, the BJP’s model in Gujarat is “Support Corruption, Develop BJP.” Corruption has increased unchecked across the state. The BJP is not just involved in corruption — the BJP is deeply drowned in corruption.

Dr. Banker, Spokesperson of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, has launched a strong attack on the rampant corruption taking place in BJP-ruled municipalities across Gujarat. He stated that the slogan “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” is merely a superficial slogan, whereas in reality, under the slogan of “Support Corruption, Develop BJP,” corruption has risen uncontrollably across the state.
In Amreli district, due to corruption within the BJP, infighting has reached its peak. In the Chalala Municipality, 20 out of 24 elected members have submitted a no-confidence motion against the President and Vice-President. The President has failed to hold regular general body meetings. In the last seven months, only one budget meeting was called, and no other general meeting has been held since then. As a result, elected members have been excluded from decisions regarding development and administration.

In the Lunawada Municipality, regarding the payment of ₹40.69 lakh for the swimming pool, 11 BJP members themselves have submitted a corruption complaint against President Kirti Patel to the Chief Officer. Massive corruption has also surfaced in the purchase of street lights — lights costing ₹300 were purchased at ₹2,978 each.

Similarly, in Upleta Municipality (Rajkot district), corruption has been exposed in the purchase of tube lights and cable wires. Tube lights costing ₹800 were purchased for ₹1,900. A total of ₹20 lakh was spent under this purchase scheme.

Now, when BJP’s own so-called “dedicated workers and leaders” are exposing the corruption happening within BJP-ruled municipalities, why is the BJP silent? When will action be taken against such corruption?

The situation of various municipalities in Gujarat is miserable. They have completely failed to provide basic civic services to citizens. Municipal treasuries are empty. The reality is that BJP leaders in power appear more concerned with filling their own pockets than serving the public.
In Saurashtra and Kutch, 67 municipalities have pending electricity dues of around ₹395 crore. Power companies have stated that electricity supply cannot be disconnected, yet the financial condition of municipalities is so poor that they are forced to take loans at interest even to pay electricity bills.
Is the BJP government is only to loot the people?
The Congress Party demands that strict action be taken immediately against the corrupt officials and leaders sitting in municipalities. The damage caused to public funds must be stopped and municipal treasuries must be protected.
