Ahmedabad, February 24, 2026: The Navgujarat Group of Colleges Central Library organised a Book Exhibition on Saturday to mark Matrubhasha Diwas (Mother Language Day) that falls on February 21. Organised at the Library Reading Room of the Navgujarat Campus situated along Ashram Road in Ahmedabad, the exhibition saw participation from some 320 students from across group colleges.

Students from all group colleges namely Prin MC Shah Commerce College, CC Sheth Commerce College, PG Centre of CC Sheth College of Commerce, Smt SR Mehta Arts College, Daulatbhai Trivedi Law College and Navgujarat College of Computer Application, participated in the exhibition.
A diverse collection of books was displayed at the exhibition including novels, biographies, poetry, history, cultural studies and competitive examination resources in various Indian languages was displayed at the exhibition. The idea behind the event was to encourage students to read in native Indian languages including Gujarati and Hindi. The programme also sought to make students aware of literature, culture and heritage through books, while encouraging them to read beyond their curriculum.
Footfalls of students as well as faculty members remained in good numbers through the day. The librarians interacted with participants and encouraged students to develop a habit of reading and also take up books written in their mother-tongue. Library members also recommended notable works by distinguished authors. In fact, students showed keen interest in literature and many of them issued books for further reading.
Several participants also shared their favourite titles and discussed their reading experiences making way for healthy and meaningful interactions.
