Ahmedabad, 21st June 2025: The Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga at Aarihant Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Institute (AAMC&RI), part of Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, organized the 11th International Yoga Divas – ‘Yogotsav 2025’ – on 21st June 2025, at Central Plaza, SSIU, Gandhinagar. This event saw the participation of around 100 to 150 students along with faculty members.

The event began with Deep Pragtya and Dhanvantari Stavan performed by the guests and participants. Followed by a yoga session. The session was led by Yoga instructor Dr.Sonali P Ladhi who is the Professor and Head of the Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga, AAMC&RI and demonstrated by the group of students who are studying in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) Bhargav Amipara, Purv Sidhdhapura, Shaili Patel, and Nidhi Parmar. The session started with Omkara chanting, loosening exercises, and asanas from the AYUSH Ministry’s Common Yoga Protocol. These included standing postures like Tadasana and Vrikshasana, sitting asanas like Vajrasana and Shashankasana, supine postures such as Pavanamuktasana and Setubandhasana, and prone asanas like Bhujangasana and Makarasana. Breathing techniques like Kapalabhati, Anulom-Vilom, and Bhramari were also performed. The session ended with Omkara chanting.

Competitions such as Essay Writing, Painting, and Reels were also organized as part of the celebration. In the Essay Competition, Jayshree Chaudhry won first place and Dhyanvi Gandhi came second in the student category. In the faculty category, Dr. Prem Prajapati won first place and Dr. Shashikant Bhagat came second. In the Painting Competition in students’ category Vanshi Parmar secured first place, followed by Dhyanvi Gandhi and Muskan Tomar. Anjali Lagaria and Vishva Jadav received joint fourth positions. Among faculty, Dr. Pooja Kalne won first prize, and Dr. Ankita Chavan secured second. In the Reels Competition, Dhruvil & Group won first place, Nidhi & Group came second, and Prakash & Group were third.

The event ended with a vote of thanks, followed by the national anthem and refreshments.
