Terror threats was discovered on the walls of the Budhi Maa Thakurani temple near the high-security Parikrama Marg surrounding Jagannath Temple in Puri. The messages, written in Odia, warned of a potential attack, with phrases like “Terrorists will demolish the Srimandir,” and also included phone numbers and references to high-level figures. This discovery triggered widespread alarm among devotees and residents, prompting authorities to ramp up security.
A special police team was formed immediately to investigate the incident. CCTV footage and leads are being closely reviewed, and local witnesses were interviewed to trace the person responsible. One suspect, identified as Raghunath Sahoo (65 years old), has been detained. He was found to be mentally unstable, with a prior history of mental health issues and behavioral disturbances. Investigations suggest the act was likely not a credible plot.
