Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, at a tree plantation program organized under ‘Seva Saptah’ at Ranip, Ahmedabad, by AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation as part of the ‘Mission for Million Trees’ campaign, planted a Putranjiva tree and inspired the vision of a ‘Green Gujarat’. He also appealed to citizens to plant more trees, protect them, and actively participate in building a greener Gujarat.

It is noteworthy that, with the noble intention of increasing the green cover of Ahmedabad city, more than 40.80 lakh saplings have already been planted so far under the ‘Mission for Million Trees’ campaign launched by AMC. In addition, on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on 17th September, a Tulsi distribution program was organized at religious places in every ward of Ahmedabad city, under which 12,820 Tulsi plants were distributed.

For this mission, plantation sites are being identified using Google Maps. Moreover, each plantation site is geo-tagged, and with the help of LIDAR survey technology, the growth and survival rate of the trees will be monitored.
