Congress Party has launched a “Vote Chor – Gadi Chhod” (Vote Thieves – Vacate the Seat) signature campaign and missed-call drive across Gujarat from October 3 to 10, 2025.
“We appeal to the aware citizens of Gujarat to join this fight to save democracy and protect the constitutional rights of the people,” said Amit Chavda.
To stop vote theft and protect your voting rights, give a missed call on 08047358455 and become a “Vote Rakshak” (Protector of the Vote).

Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Chavda stated:
In a democracy, the Constitution has given every Indian the right to vote. The Constitution has ensured the principle of equality through “one person, one vote.” Whether it is the Prime Minister, the President, or an ordinary citizen, the value of each vote is the same.
But today, under the BJP government, the Election Commission, which is supposed to be autonomous and impartial, has become a puppet of the ruling party. As part of a well-planned conspiracy across India, vote theft (bogus voting, duplicate names, and fake voters) is taking place.
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, MP Rahul Gandhi, had already raised concerns that elections in India were not being conducted impartially and that the Election Commission was biased in favor of the BJP. Gujarat Congress has also presented evidence in the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency’s Choriyasi assembly seat, where out of 2,40,000 voters, more than 30,000 names were found to be suspicious, duplicate, or false.
This proves that vote theft is taking place nationwide. Because elections are being won through stolen votes, the government is not concerned about issues such as unemployment, inflation, farmers’ distress, collapsing businesses, and the struggles of workers. The government is confident that regardless of public anger, it can manipulate elections with the help of the Election Commission and continue to win power.
Evidence and data from Gujarat, similar to a previous assembly case in Karnataka, have been presented to show the extent of the irregularities. Citizens of the state must be aware and understand this.
As per AICC’s directive, the “Vote Chor – Gadi Chhod” signature campaign is being organized in Gujarat from October 3–10, 2025. Across India, this campaign aims to collect over 5 crore signatures to safeguard democracy. Gujarat Congress leaders and workers will actively participate to expose vote theft.
Congress has announced that all 182 assembly constituencies in Gujarat will have their electoral rolls checked by 2027. Fake, duplicate, and suspicious voters will be identified to protect the rights of genuine voters.
“We call upon the citizens of Gujarat to join this fight to save democracy and expose the vote thieves. We will reach out to every household to safeguard constitutional rights,” said Amit Chavda.
Congress leaders present at the press conference included Ahmedabad City Congress President Sonalben Patel, Ahmedabad District Congress Committee President and former MLA Rajesh Gohil, Media Convener & Spokesperson Manish Doshi, Media Co-Convener & Spokesperson Hemang Rawal, and spokespersons Hiren Banker and Amit Nayak.
