A meeting of the State Cabinet was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel. Sharing details of the important discussions with the media, Spokesperson Minister Shri Jitubhai Vaghani said that, following the recent unseasonal rains which caused significant crop damage, the Chief Minister has announced two generous and compassionate agricultural relief packages — ₹947 crore earlier and ₹10,000 crore recently — to support affected farmers.
The State Cabinet extended heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the Chief Minister on behalf of Gujarat’s farmers for these relief measures. Furthermore, adopting a sensitive approach, the Chief Minister approved an additional ₹190 crore to ensure equal assistance for both irrigated and non-irrigated land under the earlier ₹947 crore package. With this, the total amount of the first relief package has reached ₹1,137 crore.
