Six From Gujarat Killed in Jaipur–Bikaner Highway Bus Truck Accident

A major road accident on the Jaipur–Bikaner National Highway in Rajasthan claimed the lives of six people from Gujarat, leaving several others seriously injured. The tragic incident occurred late on Monday night when a passenger bus travelling from Bikaner to Jaipur collided head-on with a truck near the Sikar district.

According to early reports from local police and rescue teams, the sleeper bus was carrying a group of passengers from Gujarat who were returning after a pilgrimage tour. The impact of the collision was severe, causing extensive damage to the front portion of the bus.

Four passengers died on the spot immediately after the crash. Two more victims, who had suffered critical injuries, later succumbed during treatment at hospitals in Sikar and Jaipur — raising the total death count to six.

At least 27 passengers sustained injuries of varying severity.

15 injured passengers were admitted to Sikar District Hospital. 13 others received primary treatment at Fatehgarh. One critically injured person, referred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur, later passed away.

Police, local administration, and emergency medical teams arrived at the location shortly after the accident. Rescue operations continued late into the night as authorities worked to pull passengers out of the mangled bus and shift them to hospitals.

Initial observations point towards the possibility of overspeeding or driver negligence, but the exact cause is yet to be officially confirmed. The truck driver’s role and condition are also being examined.

The Jaipur–Bikaner stretch has witnessed several serious accidents in recent months, prompting renewed concerns over highway safety, driver fatigue, and nighttime travel risks.

Authorities have ordered an investigation and are in the process of contacting relatives of the deceased in Gujarat.
