Ahmedabad Police’s Traffic Diversion Notification at Shahibaug Underbridge for Bullet Train Segment Work

Ahmedabad Police have issued a traffic advisory in view of segment installation work for the Government of India’s Bullet Train Project being carried out between Sabarmati and Vatva. The piloting and segment installation work is being executed by Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Ltd.

According to the press note, the work will be undertaken at the Shahibaug Underbridge, where segments will be installed on the already constructed bullet train pillars. The activity is scheduled to take place from 8:00 pm on January 23, 2026, until 12:00 midnight on January 28, 2026.

During this period, traffic movement at Shahibaug Underbridge will remain restricted, and necessary diversions will be implemented to ensure public safety and smooth execution of the project.

Traffic Diversion Details:

  • Traffic coming from Delhi Darwaja and Subhash Bridge and heading towards Airport or Gandhinagar will be diverted via Subhash Bridge end – Shilalekh Flats – Riverfront Road – Dafnala, from where vehicles can proceed towards the Airport and Gandhinagar.
  • Traffic arriving from Airport–Gandhinagar side will be diverted via Riverfront Road through Dafnala, allowing vehicles to take alternative internal routes during the restricted hours.
  • Vehicular movement towards Asarwa, Girdharnagar, Delhi Darwaja, and Kalupur via Shahibaug Underbridge will remain completely closed during the work period. Vehicles heading towards these areas are advised to use Shahibaug route via Mahapragyaji Bridge to access the main city roads.
  • Traffic coming from Girdharnagar–Asarwa side and proceeding towards Gandhinagar or the Airport will be diverted through Shahibaug – Anokhi Circle – Gayatri Mandir – Army Cantonment, from where vehicles can reach the Airport and Gandhinagar via Indira Bridge.

Ahmedabad Police have appealed to citizens to plan their travel in advance, follow traffic signage and police instructions, and cooperate during the diversion period to avoid inconvenience.
