New Delhi, January 26: The Gujarat tableau emerged as a standout feature of the 77th Republic Day Parade 2026 held at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, celebrating the nation’s heritage with a compelling theme and visual presentation. The tableau, based on “Mantra of Swadeshi – Self-Reliance – Freedom: Vande Mataram,” depicted the spirit of India’s freedom movement and the continuing journey toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat, striking a chord with audiences nationwide.
In the online public voting conducted by the Union Ministry of Defence on the MyGov portal, Gujarat’s tableau secured 43 % of the total votes, outpacing entries from other states and earning the top spot in the Popular Choice Award category for the fourth year in a row.

The formal award presentation took place on January 30, 2026, at the Republic Day concluding ceremony held at the National Rangshala Camp in New Delhi. The prestigious accolade was conferred in the presence of senior officials, including the Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, who attended the event along with other dignitaries and representatives from the Gujarat government.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed pride in the achievement, describing it as a historic moment that reflected the deep connection between the public and the narrative portrayed by the tableau.
