Cow Smuggling Racket Busted in Ahmedabad; One Arrested After Accident Near Chandranagar BRTS

Ahmedabad police have busted a cow smuggling operation following an accident that occurred near Chandranagar BRTS corridor while the accused were attempting to flee.

According to police sources, four persons were involved in the illegal activity. During their escape attempt, their vehicle met with an accident near the Chandranagar BRTS area. Taking advantage of the situation, three of the accused managed to escape, while one accused, identified as Makbool, was caught and taken into custody.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the group was involved in illegal transportation of cattle. Police have launched a manhunt to trace the absconding accused and are probing the network to identify others linked to the smuggling racket.

Further legal action is being initiated under relevant sections of the law, and investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full scope of the operation.

In this incident, a case has been registered at Paldi Police Station as Part-II FIR No. 11191016260007/2026 under the provisions of the Animal Protection Act Sections 5, 6, 6(a) and 8; Sections 11(1)(d), 11(1)(e), 11(1)(f) and 11(1)(h) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act; Section 54 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS); and Section 3 of the Damage to Public Property Act.
