Bomb Threat Emails lead to Evacuations at Schools in Ahmedabad & Vadodara

Ahmedabad & Vadodara, Gujarat — Multiple schools in the cities of Ahmedabad and Vadodara were evacuated on Monday morning (16 Feb 2026) after receiving bomb-threat emails, prompting large-scale security operations and widespread concern among parents, students, and authorities.

Officials confirmed that emails claiming explosive devices had been planted on school campuses were received by educational institutions in both cities. The messages forced schools to follow emergency protocols and alert law enforcement immediately.

In Ahmedabad, schools that reported receiving threat emails included:

  • Asia School, Vastrapur
  • A-One School, Satellite
  • DAV International School, Makarba
  • Ankur International School
    …and several others.

In Vadodara, affected institutions included:

  • Urmi School
  • D.R. Amin School
  • Nalanda School
…and additional campuses that reported similar emails.

Authorities said that more than 25 schools in total across Ahmedabad and Vadodara may have been targeted, with some reports suggesting up to 28–30 threat emails were received.

Following the alerts, students were promptly sent home as a precaution while bomb detection and disposal squads (BDDS), dog units, local police, and fire brigade teams conducted thorough inspections across campuses.

Officers checked classrooms, playgrounds, and vehicles within school premises. No explosive devices or suspicious objects have been found so far.

Law enforcement and cyber-crime teams have launched a full investigation into the source of the emails. The Joint Commissioner of Police in Ahmedabad confirmed that FIRs will be registered against the senders of the threatening messages.

Vadodara police officials described the messages as likely hoaxes, similar to previous bomb-threat emails that targeted schools in the region in earlier months.

Security has also been heightened at sensitive locations, and authorities are coordinating efforts to trace the origin of the threatening emails, including possible international routing to conceal senders.

School administrations and officials emphasized that student safety was the top priority and that all precautionary steps were taken in line with established emergency protocols.

Parents expressed concern over the disruption and the psychological impact on children, even though nothing dangerous was found. Law enforcement urged the public to remain calm while the investigation continues.
