In a major anti-drug operation, the Gujarat ATS, in coordination with the Rajasthan Police, successfully intercepted an Eeco vehicle on National Highway 68 carrying a consignment of narcotics allegedly smuggled across the border from Pakistan through drones or other means.
The operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs, leading to the seizure of the drug consignment before it could be distributed further. Authorities believe the narcotics were part of a cross-border smuggling network.
A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act. Investigators are now examining mobile chats and digital evidence to trace the wider network and identify other individuals involved.
The Gujarat ATS reaffirmed its commitment to building a drug-free society and ensuring a safe and secure Gujarat through strict action against narcotics trafficking.
