The anthem “Chhatrapati” from Raja Shivaji, starring Riteish Deshmukh, has officially been released.
Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company have unveiled this powerful first anthem from their upcoming film, which is based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The song is composed by the renowned duo Ajay–Atul and sung by Ajay Gogavale in his commanding voice. It also features a grand chorus of 80 singers, adding scale and intensity. The anthem reflects the pride, courage, and self-respect of Hindavi Swarajya.
More than just a grand musical piece, the song is deeply emotional, with powerful composition, impactful lyrics, and a stirring tone. It represents not only the story of a great king but also the awakening of society and the beginning of self-rule.
The choreography has been done by Remo D’Souza, with each step carefully aligned to the rhythm, showcasing unity, pride, and devotion toward the king.
Speaking about the song, Ajay–Atul said that it was not just a large-scale track, but one that required emotion, honesty, and respect. Every note carries pride along with responsibility, especially when working on such a historic legacy.
The film features a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amole Gupte, Genelia Deshmukh, along with Riteish Deshmukh, who also directs the film.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh, Raja Shivaji is set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2026, in Marathi and Hindi.
