Surat: In a shocking revelation, authorities have taken strict action against an alleged illegal abortion racket operating at Mamta Hospital in Surat. The case came to light on Monday at around 2:07 PM, when an alert citizen shared crucial information via WhatsApp regarding suspicious activities at the facility.
According to initial findings, the procedure was not being carried out by a qualified doctor but by a pharmacist, raising serious concerns over medical ethics and legality. Officials revealed that the accused had reportedly been involved in similar activities in the past under different identities.
Authorities described the act as “heinous,” alleging that illegal abortions were being conducted in an unsafe and unethical manner. Strict action has been initiated against those involved, and further investigation is underway.
Officials also emphasized that enforcement efforts have been intensified across the region. Around 32 food inspection vans have been deployed, and live reporting of inspections is being conducted every night to ensure transparency and public safety. Any violations coming to light are being dealt with firmly.
Citizens have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. “This is the time to stay alert,” officials stated, warning that negligence could lead to serious consequences.
Meanwhile, addressing public concerns about bird flu, authorities clarified that while a case has been reported in Nandurbar, Maharashtra, no such case has been detected in Gujarat so far. Poultry farms in the state are under strict surveillance, and thorough inspections are being carried out.
“There is no need to panic,” officials reassured, adding that all necessary precautions are in place to ensure public health and safety.
