Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has officially declared the Class 10 (SSC) examination results for 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 83.86%. Continuing the trend of academic excellence, girls once again outperformed boys with an impressive pass rate of 88.28%.

Among districts, Narmada emerged as the top performer with a pass percentage of 90.85%, while Panchmahal recorded the lowest at 76.42%. On the centre level, Ajol centre in Gandhinagar district achieved a remarkable 100% result, whereas Munkhosla centre in Dahod district reported the lowest performance at 33.74%.
Student Participation & School Performance
A total of 7,56,392 regular students appeared for the examination, out of which 6,34,327 students successfully passed. Across the state, 1,697 schools recorded a perfect 100% result, while 39 schools reported zero pass percentage, raising concerns over academic standards in certain areas.
Medium-wise Results
The results also highlighted a difference based on medium of instruction. English-medium schools achieved a higher success rate of 92.50%, compared to 82.67% in Gujarati-medium schools.
Supplementary Exams & ‘Best of Two’ Opportunity
Despite the overall positive outcome, 1,83,674 students did not pass the examination. This includes 1,22,065 regular students, 44,806 repeater candidates, and 16,763 GSOS (private) students.
To support these students, the board has announced supplementary examinations scheduled for June 2026. Students will benefit from the ‘Best of Two’ scheme, allowing them to reappear and improve their scores, offering a second chance to secure better academic results.
Education officials emphasized that the initiative aims to reduce academic pressure while ensuring students have fair opportunities to succeed.
