Ahmedabad, July 17, 2026: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested five more accused allegedly associated with the banned Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in connection with an ongoing terror module investigation.

The arrests were announced during a follow-up press conference held at the Gujarat ATS headquarters in Ahmedabad. According to ATS officials, the newly arrested accused were identified as:
- Mohammed Aiyub Kadiwal @ Mohammed Khadiyasan
- Bilal Abid Shera
- Mohammed Hasan Karadiya @ Hasan Haidarpuri
- Mohammed Shafi Mukhi @ Shafi Chapi
- Mohammed Aiyub Sunasara @ Mohammed Khali
Investigators stated that the five accused, along with those arrested earlier in the case, were allegedly members of the proscribed Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed. The group is suspected of being involved in testing explosive devices as part of the terror module under investigation.

Pen Drive Containing Bomb-Making Material Recovered
During the investigation, ATS officials revealed that Bilal Abid Shera, a resident of Vadgam who was arrested from Ahmedabad, had allegedly been provided with a pen drive containing PDF documents related to bomb-making. Officials said the accused was also found to have pro-jihadi leanings, and the digital material has been seized for forensic examination.

Investigation Continues
According to Gujarat ATS, the latest arrests were made based on disclosures obtained during the police remand of previously arrested accused, leading investigators to additional suspects and evidence. Authorities are continuing to investigate the wider network, digital communications, and possible links with cross-border handlers.
Further forensic analysis and interrogation are underway to establish the complete scope of the alleged conspiracy. ATS officials stated that additional legal proceedings and investigation are in progress.
