Gandhinagar: The ‘Viksit Gujarat Summit 2026’, themed “Building India’s Future-Ready Economy,” was organised at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, with the objective of making Gujarat more globally competitive and driving development through science, innovation and advanced technologies.
The event was held under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, in the presence of Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia, Denmark’s Ambassador Kristensen, and other dignitaries.
Addressing the summit, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Gujarat has emerged as a “Global Gateway to the Future.” He said Gujarat, which has established itself as the country’s growth engine and a model of development, is now moving beyond manufacturing, automobiles and renewable energy to take a leading role in emerging sectors such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).
The Chief Minister said the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Gujarat’ goes beyond economic growth and focuses on comprehensive development, ensuring equal opportunities, a quality life and a bright future for every citizen.
Emphasising the concept of “Earning Well, Living Well,” Patel highlighted the importance of maintaining a balance between economy and ecology. He expressed confidence that, through the development of Gujarat, the state and its people would collectively contribute to realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
The summit underscored Gujarat’s growing ambition to strengthen its position as a hub for innovation, advanced technology and future-ready industries, while contributing to India’s long-term economic and sustainable development.
