Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court has undertaken a significant administrative reshuffle in the state judiciary, issuing a series of transfer and posting orders involving senior judicial officers as well as Civil Judges and Judicial Magistrates.
As part of the exercise, 67 judicial officers in the District Judge cadre have been transferred and posted to different courts across Gujarat. The list includes 15 Principal District Judges and nine Principal Judges of Family Courts.
A key change in the administrative setup is the transfer of Gujarat High Court Registrar General S. D. Suthar, who has been appointed as the Principal Judge of the Ahmedabad City Civil and Sessions Court. The post of Registrar General will now be held by H. R. Rawal, who was serving as the Principal Judge of the Ahmedabad City Civil and Sessions Court.
The High Court has also ordered the promotion of a number of Civil Judges to the District and Sessions Judge cadre, followed by their respective postings.
In another major round of transfers, 259 Civil Judges and Judicial Magistrates First Class (JMFCs) have been reassigned to various courts and judicial establishments across the state.
The latest orders form part of the Gujarat High Court’s regular administrative process aimed at strengthening the functioning of courts and ensuring effective administration of justice throughout Gujarat.
Most of the officers covered by the latest orders are expected to take charge at their new places of posting from August 17, 2026, while the joining schedule for certain officers will be governed by separate orders.
The transfer and posting exercise is expected to bring changes in the administrative and judicial responsibilities across several districts and courts in Gujarat. The detailed names, designations and places of posting have been specified in the respective notifications issued by the Gujarat High Court.
