20 August 2026 Gandhinagar: As a part of its efforts to strengthen industry-linked education and promote innovation in emerging technologies and digital content, Karnavati University, in collaboration with JioGames, has launched the ‘Karnavati Innovation Centre’.

The centre has been established as a hands-on learning and innovation space featuring three dedicated zones: the JioGames Experience Zone, Content Creation Zone, and Instructional Zone. Together, these facilities will enable students to experiment with gaming and digital content, develop practical skills, and turn their ideas into real-world projects.

Through access to the JioGames platform, students will be able to experience games and create new ones. The Content Creation Zone will encourage students to experiment with new forms of digital and interactive media, while the Instructional Zone will provide contemporary knowledge and practical learning in areas such as game design, game programming and the broader gaming industry, with support from industry experts and distinguished professionals.
The initiative further strengthens Karnavati University’s existing academic programmes in the field, including BDes with a specialisation in Animation and Game Design and BTech-CSE with a specialisation in Game Programming. The Karnavati Innovation Centre will provide students enrolled in these and related programmes with an environment to learn through practice, experiment with ideas, collaborate with peers and professionals, and develop and showcase their work.
Mr. Ritesh Hada, President of Karnavati University, said, “The Karnavati Innovation Centre reflects our commitment to moving beyond traditional classroom learning and providing students with opportunities to connect directly with the industry. Our objective is to equip the next generation not only with technical skills, but also with the creative and entrepreneurial capabilities needed to become game designers, programmers, storytellers, content creators and innovators.”
Dr. Kusum Agrawal, Dean Academics, Karnavati University, said, “The Karnavati Innovation Centre reflects the university’s continued emphasis on integrating academic learning with industry practices. By incorporating platforms such as JioGames into the learning ecosystem, the centre enables students to engage with contemporary tools, methodologies and workflows relevant to the gaming and digital content sectors. It strengthens our academic framework by providing applied learning, cross-disciplinary collaboration and exposure to evolving industry standards, ensuring that students develop both conceptual depth and practical capabilities.”
The collaboration between Karnavati University and JioGames aims to bridge the gap between academic education and professional skills by providing students with real-world exposure, industry mentorship, and opportunities to transform their ideas into innovative digital experiences.
The launch programme featured sessions on topics including “When Work Is Play,” “Nobody Skips a Good Frame,” and “Careers in Gaming Industry,” followed by the formal inauguration and unveiling of the Karnavati Innovation Centre.
The centre is envisioned not merely as a facility for gaming education, but as a platform where students can engage with emerging technologies, strengthen their creative and technical capabilities, and gain deeper industry-oriented knowledge.
Karnavati University is a private state university located in Gandhinagar, offering multidisciplinary programmes across fields including Design, Law, Business, Liberal Arts, Mass Communication, Computational Intelligence, and Dentistry.
