Gandhinagar: IAS officer Shri G.T. Pandya today assumed charge as the Director of Information, Gujarat. After taking charge, he held a meeting with Additional Director of Information Dr. Sanjay Kachot and other information department officials at Gandhinagar to interact with the team and familiarise himself with the department’s functioning.
Shri Pandya urged the officials and employees to work with a strong sense of teamwork. He also reviewed the functioning of the Director of Information’s office and guided the team on effectively publicising state and central government welfare schemes to ensure that their benefits reach the last person in society.
Before assuming charge as Director of Information, Shri G.T. Pandya was serving as Additional Secretary in the state’s Education Department. He has also served as Collector of Morbi and Devbhumi Dwarka districts and as District Development Officer of Rajkot district.
Born on May 15, 1972, Shri G.T. Pandya holds a B.Tech degree in Mining Engineering. A 2011-batch Indian Administrative Service officer, he brings extensive administrative experience and has served in several important positions in the state government.
Notably, he has received the SKOCH Award for his contributions to the Swasth Bharat and e-Aushadhi projects.
