In Vadodara, at Atladara Bhim Lake during demolition activity of removing 339 houses, localites got angry and attacked police and urban authorities. Police looking at the anger of people had to leave the spot and call for additional police force. Mob protested against demolition and set fire at a few places. Police had to forcefully arrest protestors. Yesterday in Chhani area, at Hanuman Tekri 44 permanent structures were built on kachha houses which were demolished by bulldozers. There was incident of fight between people and police in which 1 lady was killed. Authorities had allotted BSUP houses to 11 residents of Hanuman Tekri and had given them 15 days of notice to vacate the place by Municipal Commissioner. Possession was not given to them as they had not paid money. This locality was built on government land. When authorities came for demolition localites demanded keys of the houses illegally. Localites attacked police with axe and lathi, in which two policemen were injured.
