In Ahmedabad, supreme court has stayed the order issued by Gujarat High Court on demotion of 39 PSI police sub inspectors. Apex court has issued notice to Gujarat High Court on not to withdraw charge of PSI. In 2012, Gujarat government’s amendment on 39 constables and head constables to PSI. Gujarat High Court had disqualified the amendment of Gujarat government of PSI promotion. Gujarat government had amended order in 2012 to consider the candidates eligible who appeared in 2009 for PSI promotion. The order was challenged in Gujarat HC to only consider 39 candidates to PSI. Gujarat High Court accepting the ground of appeallent cancelled the order by Gujarat government. Also, bench of Justice Harsha Devani and Justice GR Udhavani cancelled the promotions to 39 constables and head constables.
