Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the opening ceremony of 52nd African Development Bank’s annual meeting in Gandhinagar appreciated the trade association between two countries.
PM Modi addressed the high level business delegates and diplomats from Africa.

Our aim is that India must be an engine of growth as well as an example in climate friendly development in the years to come. By paying subsidies directly to the poor rather than indirectly through price concessions, we have achieved large fiscal savings.Our challenges also include ensuring our rural communities have access to finance, building infrastructure.Many of the challenges we face are the same: uplifting our farmers and the poor, empowering women.
We are encouraged by the response of African countries to the International Solar Alliance initiative.From 1996 to 2016, Africa accounted for nearly one-fifth of Indian overseas direct investments.
Putting on the note the trade association PM added Africa-India trade multiplied in last 15 years. It doubled in the last 5 years to reach nearly seventy-two billion US dollars in 2014-15. India’s partnership with Africa is based on a model of cooperation which is responsive to the needs of African countries.
PM Modi said I am proud to say that there is no country in Africa that has not been visited by an Indian Minister in the last three years.
After assuming office in 2014, I have made Africa a top priority for India’s foreign and economic.India has had strong ties with Africa for centuries.

Today Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi met on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings African Development Bank’s ceremony VVIPs including Mr. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Daniel Kablan Duncan, Vice President of Ivory Coast and Mr. Patrice Talon, the President of Benin. VVIPs and PM discussed a wide range of issues during their meeting.
