Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar from India, Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico and the current Miss New Zealand, Jessica Tyson catch-up over sweet treats at New Zealand’s gourmet ice cream store Giapo.
The Miss Worlds were seens ampling a menu which included Yorkshire Pudding with Dark Chocolate Ice Cream, Colossal Squid (chocolate filled with Coconut Ice Cream) and Salted Caramel Ice Cream with Chips! Manushi, who has asweet tooth for desserts was seen enjoying the colossal squid, while Stephanie savoured the salted caramel ice cream with Chips.
Giapo’s Haute Ice-cream in Auckland, is no ordinary ice cream shop. They have flavours like red capsicum (bell pepper) and mandarin sorbet garnished with rosemary and coriander seeds, Giapo not only experiments with combinations no ice-cream maker has tried before but, he also showcases New Zealand’s fantastic produce.
Inspired by Indian food, Giapo’slatest invention includes the roti ice-cream wrap, where the store has taken the roti to make it into an ultimate delectable dessert treat. It is prepared by making the roti in the traditional way and then caramelising it on both sides in a pan with a little sugar. The cold ice cream then hits the warm roti and the whole thing is rolled up and adorned with toasted nuts.
The roti ice cream wrap continues Giapo’s tradition of taking world-famous foods and giving them a nice twist. Earlier too, Giapo had prepared ice cream served in PaniPuri shells, taking creativity to a whole new level.
Located in downtown Auckland, Giapo ice-cream is a must visit store for any visitor to New Zealand.
