Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026 Inaugurated by CM Bhupendra Patel

(Ahmedabad, January 1, 2026) — The much-anticipated 14th International Flower Show was inaugurated today by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre, marking the beginning of a vibrant 22-day floral spectacle that will run through January 22, 2026.

Organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), this year’s edition unfolds under the captivating theme “Bharat Ek Gatha” — a tribute to India’s rich historical, cultural, and modern journey depicted through artistic flower installations and thematic zones.

A Blossoming Ode to India’s Heritage and Progress
The exhibition spans a sprawling area along the riverfront, where over 167 floral sculptures and installations featuring more than one million flowers and plants have been arranged to represent facets of India’s civilisation. Highlights include zones dedicated to India’s ancient knowledge, festivals, performing arts, classical and folk dance traditions, and its strides in modern technology and development.

At the entrance, towering floral lions and lotus fountains symbolise courage, pride, and national spirit. A special “Shashvat Bharat” zone brings mythological narratives to life through floral art, while a section devoted to contemporary achievements showcases innovations in high-speed rail, renewable energy, space technology, sports and education.

One of the exhibition’s centrepieces is a 30-metre diameter floral mandala and what organisers aim to make the world’s largest floral portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, honouring the leader’s legacy of national unity.
