Ahmedabad is set to host a major international sporting event as the Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG), in collaboration with the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), gears up for the AVC Nations Cup 2026 (Men’s) in June next year.
To share key details about the upcoming tournament, a media briefing will be held featuring Mr. Ramon Suzara, President of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, and Ms. Nilofer Sheikh, Assistant Director of SAG, Gujarat.
During the briefing, both officials are expected to outline preparations for the prestigious continental event, including venue arrangements, participating teams, logistical planning, and Gujarat’s role in promoting international sports.
The tournament, scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad, is expected to bring together top men’s volleyball teams from across Asia, further boosting Gujarat’s profile as an emerging hub for global sporting events.
Officials said the event will not only enhance the state’s sports infrastructure but also provide local fans with an opportunity to witness high-level volleyball action on home soil.
