Ahmedabad: A tragic accident has been reported from the Vadaj area of Ahmedabad, where two young girls were run over by a reversing water tanker. One of the girls lost her life in the incident, while the other sustained serious injuries and has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
According to local sources, the accident occurred when the tanker driver was reversing the vehicle and allegedly failed to notice the children behind. Angry residents gathered at the scene following the incident and reportedly caught hold of the driver, assaulting him in a fit of rage.
Locals have alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was driving negligently, leading to the fatal accident.
The B Traffic Police have registered a case and initiated legal action against the accused driver. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
In this incident, a fatal offence has been registered at the ‘B’ Traffic Police Station vide FIR No. 11191052260071/2026, under sections 106(1), 125(a), 125(b), 281 of the BNS, as well as sections 177 and 184 of the MVA, and legal proceedings have been initiated accordingly. Furthermore, the accused has been apprehended.
