Bhavnagar Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Shailesh Khambhla is suspect in murder case. The victims are his wife Nayana Rabari (40), their 13-year-old daughter Pritha, and their 9-year-old son Bhavya.
The family went missing on November 6. Shailesh Khambhla had filed a missing persons report on that date.
After a tip-off, police discovered three bodies buried in a field near the forest quarters in Bhavnagar. Forensics, dog squad, and witness panchayat were called for the dig and recovery. The bodies were identified by relatives as Nayana, Pritha, and Bhavya. The police have classified this as a murder case. Shailesh Khambhla is a prime suspect.Post-mortem has been done; investigation and questioning of family/neighbors is underway. The family had come to Bhavnagar from Surat (where they normally stay) during school holidays. The suspicious digging (pit) appears to have happened very close to where the family lived (forest colony quarters).
