Today Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel along with Union Minister of Ports-Shipping-Waterways Mr. Sarbanand Sonowal and Union Minister of Labour-Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the ambitious project under inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Lothal, an important ancient heritage site of Gujarat. Site visit of ‘National Maritime Heritage Complex’ (NMHC) on progress reviewed.
Realizing the motto of Prime Minister ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’ by combining Gujarat’s rich ancient maritime heritage with modern-day dimensions, Phase 1A of NMHC is currently under construction, under which the museum to be built will include 6 galleries. INS Nishank, Sea-Harrier aircraft and UH3 helicopters, naval warships are displayed in these galleries.
