India’s upcoming Census 2027 will be conducted entirely in a digital format for the first time, which is a commendable initiative. As part of its preparation, certain blocks from both urban and rural areas of Gujarat have been selected for a pilot project (pre-test).

Under this initiative, the advanced Census-Gujarat Web Portal has been launched today in Gandhinagar:
https://gujarat.census.gov.in
This website has been developed by the office of the Director of Census Operations for Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. It features a multi-language interface for easy and user-friendly access.

For the first time, self-enumeration (Self-Counting) has been introduced, allowing citizens to securely submit their information online through the web portal.
This feature will enable first-hand practical experience in the districts selected under the pilot project.
